The Trailer for ‘The Bulldogs’ Documentary Is Here, Just in Time for Slamdance Premiere
Before its premiere at the Slamdance Festival later this month, the feature-length documentary The Bulldogs has released its first trailer. Set to debut at the festival, the film explores the lives of residents in a small Ohio town grappling with the aftermath of a catastrophic chemical train derailment that occurred in 2023.
The documentary paints a vivid portrait of the community as its members confront existential fears and navigate a media frenzy. Among the featured individuals are a retiree who organizes cardio-drumming sessions for older women and has begun podcasting to share uplifting stories about East Palestine, and a chiropractor who becomes an activist and decides to run for Congress. The narrative captures various moments, including high school football games and holiday variety shows, highlighting the humor and tenderness found in the day-to-day lives that bind the town together.
Directed and produced by Ohio-based filmmakers Noah Dixon and Ori Segev, The Bulldogs was filmed over an extended period following the derailment, offering a deeper exploration of the emotional and psychological impact on the community.
The Slamdance Festival will take place from February 19 to March 6 in Los Angeles.
