Michel Gondry’s ‘Little Fears’ Partners with Joker Films and Logical Pictures for Distribution and Sales
French film companies The Jokers Films and Logical Pictures International (LPI) have officially joined forces for Michel Gondry’s upcoming film, Little Fears. This collaboration was announced by their parent company, Logical Pictures Group, which recently launched LPI as its new sales arm.
The Jokers Films will manage the film’s distribution in France, while LPI is set to handle international sales and present the project to potential buyers at the European Film Market (EFM). This strategic partnership is designed to enhance synergies among the group’s various subsidiaries.
Logical Pictures Group emphasized that this acquisition reflects its commitment to strengthening collaborations with filmmakers. The company noted the longstanding relationship with Gondry and his producer, Georges Bermann, facilitated by The Jokers, which also distributed Gondry’s 2023 works, The Book of Solutions and Maya, Give Me a Title.
Little Fears, which Gondry first introduced last summer, continues the director’s exploration of unique narratives, following his recent animated projects, Maya, Give Me a Title and Maya 2. The film is described as “a dark tale imbued with surrealist poetry,” focusing on two young girls, Julia and Nina, whose idyllic childhood is disrupted by the discovery of a human skull in their garden, leading to a wave of fear and suspicion.
"I want the spectator to soften the present image and allow the image of childhood to resurface," Gondry expressed in a press release from Logical. “By adopting the point of view of the two young heroines, Nina and Julia, the viewer rediscovers an innocent, sincere, and vibrant perception of the world.”
The film boasts an adult cast that includes Gilles Lellouche (Dog 51, Sink or Swim), Bastien Bouillon (Leave One Day), and Valérie Donzelli (At Work).
