Alien: Earth Creator Shares No Plans for Predator Crossover in the Series
In a recent development, the Predator franchise has re-entered the spotlight with its exploration of the Alien universe. However, it seems that a crossover into the Xenomorph saga on Earth may not be forthcoming.
Noah Hawley, the creator of Alien: Earth, indicated that he is “not coordinating” any involvement of the Yautja in his FX series spinoff. This announcement follows the earlier appearance of the Predator universe in Predator: Badlands, directed by Dan Trachtenberg, which is currently showing in theaters.
“No, not onto the show, I don’t think,” Hawley said during an appearance on the Smartless podcast. He praised Trachtenberg, stating, “I think Dan Trachtenberg, who made Prey and has made the Badlands movie — you know, I loved Prey. I think he’s doing a great job with that franchise. He clearly has a plan there. I’ve met Dan once, we’re not coordinating any of that stuff. So, it’s not really my plan to do it.”
Hawley further explained his creative approach, stating that the concept of a “versus” movie can often feel like a mere exercise in combining action figures. Instead, he sought to blend elements from one franchise with another to enhance the storytelling. “So yeah, they’re a huge part of the movie,” he noted.

As for the prospect of an Alien Vs. Predator film, current leaders of both franchises have not indicated any intentions for such a project. However, the co-writer/director of Alien: Romulus (2024) previously expressed interest in collaborating with Trachtenberg on a potential crossover.
In related news, Alien: Earth was renewed for a second season last month at FX.
