Lil Jon Appeals for Prayers as His Son Nathan Goes Missing in Georgia: ‘Please Come Home Safe’
Lil Jon’s Family Seeks Privacy After Son Goes Missing
The family of rapper Lil Jon is requesting privacy and prayers following the disappearance of his 27-year-old son, Nathan Smith, who was last seen in Georgia. Nathan, known in the music world as DJ Young Slade, was reported missing, prompting a public alert from the Milton Police Department.
On February 3, the police issued the missing person alert via social media. They shared two photographs of Nathan and stated, “Subject ran out of his house and has been missing since.” The post further explained that Nathan left on foot and does not have a phone, raising concerns about his well-being. Authorities urged anyone with information to contact Detective Sarah Moore at 678-297-6300 or via email.
In a statement provided to Billboard, a representative for Lil Jon emphasized the family’s need for privacy during this difficult time. “We are also asking for continued prayers for Nathan to come home safe,” the statement read.
Lil Jon shares Nathan with his estranged wife, Nicole Smith, from whom he split around 2022 after nearly 18 years of marriage. The emotional toll of their separation influenced Lil Jon’s work on his forthcoming album, Total Meditation. He discussed the impact of these personal challenges, stating, “I found I had to start to go within to calm myself.”
In addition to Nathan, Lil Jon is also a father to a one-year-old daughter, Nahara, whom he welcomed in 2024 with his girlfriend, business owner Jamila Sozahdah.
