Post Malone and Slash Honor Ozzy Osbourne at the 2026 Grammys, Six Months After His Passing
2026 Grammy Awards Honors Ozzy Osbourne Posthumously
At the 2026 Grammy Awards, the legacy of Ozzy Osbourne was celebrated six months after his passing. Held on February 1 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, the event featured a poignant tribute performance by Slash and Post Malone, who delivered a rendition of Black Sabbath’s iconic song “War Pigs.” A black-and-white image of Ozzy illuminated the stage during their performance.
The audience witnessed an emotional moment as the camera focused on Ozzy’s widow, Sharon Osbourne, along with their children, Kelly and Jack, who were visibly moved. At the conclusion of the song, Kelly was captured placing her hands over her mouth, overwhelmed with emotion, while Sharon and Jack applauded in support.
Just a day prior to the Grammys, Sharon, Kelly, and Jack attended Clive Davis’s pre-Grammy party at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The family posed together, with Jack, 40, embracing both his mother Sharon, 73, and sister Kelly, 41. The Osbourne family also includes daughter Aimee, 42, and three older children from Ozzy’s previous marriage.
At the pre-Grammy event, artists MGK and Jelly Roll delivered heartfelt tributes by performing Ozzy’s songs “I Don’t Wanna Stop” and “Mama, I’m Coming Home.” Jelly Roll, 41, paid his respects to Ozzy following his performance, stating, “Rest in peace to the Prince of Darkness … to a great husband, a great father, a great musician … Ozzy Osbourne!” He later embraced Sharon as he left the stage.
In an intimate gesture, Yungblood shared that he lit a candle for Ozzy during the event.
Ozzy Osbourne passed away in July 2025 after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease, at the age of 76. His family released a statement expressing their profound sorrow: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.” His death was attributed to cardiac arrest, acute myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease, and Parkinson’s disease, as confirmed by a death certificate released in August 2025.

In the weeks leading up to his death, Ozzy performed publicly for the last time with Black Sabbath in Birmingham, England. According to Tom Morello, a longtime friend, Ozzy was aware he was nearing the end of his life during that performance. Morello shared his reflections on Ozzy’s legacy in August 2025, emphasizing the artist’s frailty but also highlighting the joy of performing one last time.
“It felt like he knew,” said Morello about the performance. “The fact he lived to play and feel that love one more time, to do ‘Paranoid,’ to do ‘Crazy Train.’ If you have got to go — and I wish Ozzy lived another 30 years — if you’ve got to go out … it felt like he knew.”
Jason Momoa, who had hosted Black Sabbath’s final show, also reminisced about the experience during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “I had to host for them,” he recounted. “He’s like a God to me. It was unbelievable, yeah. I loved him. Then, sadly, he passed like a couple of weeks later.”
