Earlier that day, Cori publicly announced the tragic passing of her daughter Codi on her Instagram Stories. “Monday, I lost the love of my life. My Codi 🪽,” she wrote, along with a black-and-white photo of herself holding her baby.
Cori confirmed her pregnancy in December 2024 and later revealed on Instagram in February 2025 that Codi was born prematurely at six months. “I’ve cried and cried, I’ve compared and compared, blaming myself that I wasn’t able to give her all that she needed… Thank You God for getting me this far no matter the odds that are constantly thrown against me 🙏,” she expressed at that time.
She also shared that she delivered Codi via C-section after developing HELLP syndrome, which involves hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes, and low platelets. Subsequently, Codi spent 10 months in the neonatal intensive care unit before finally coming home in early January.
In a heartwarming post dated January 6, Cori celebrated Codi’s homecoming, stating, “She’s home. 🤍,” alongside a cozy image of the two together. “Thank you for every prayer, every message, every ounce of love. God heard them all. 🕊️✨,” she concluded.
Following the announcement of Codi’s death, Cori’s fiancé, Wayne Deuce, also expressed his grief on Instagram Stories. “I been the saddest since u left me Codi Dreaux. But I know u at peace. Daddy will always love you,” he wrote, sharing a touching photo of himself with Codi.
