Netflix Takes on Country Music with Lainey Wilson: Keepin’ Country Cool from Teton Ridge, Sandbox Studios, and MakeMake
Netflix has announced its acquisition of the documentary Lainey Wilson: Keepin’ Country Cool, which focuses on the journey of the rising country music star. Co-produced by Teton Ridge Entertainment, Sandbox Studios, and MakeMake in association with Shark Pig Studios, the film is set for a global release on April 22. Amy Scott directed the project.
“I couldn’t be more excited that this documentary is going to be on Netflix,” Wilson expressed. “This was such a special project to make, and I hope that folks who watch it see that no dream is too big and that staying true to who you are will always lead you exactly where you’re meant to be.”
The documentary traces Wilson’s evolution as a country artist, highlighting her commitment to authenticity and its role in her success. It offers an introspective look at her career, capturing both her struggles and triumphs while she engages with fans on stages nationwide. The film was funded by Teton Ridge Entertainment and Sandbox Studios.
Producers involved in the film include Angus Wall, Terry Leonard, Kent Kubena, Thomas Tull, Jillian Share, Jason Owen, Jen Gorton, Mandelyn Monchick, Josh Miller, Katie Admire, Jillian Apfelbaum, and Nicolas Gordon in an executive production capacity.
“What began as a fever dream project became an intimate journey with one of the most dynamic and fascinating artists of today,” Scott remarked. “Lainey’s story is deeply personal, wildly inspiring, and rooted in authenticity, and I can’t imagine a better platform to share it with the world.”
