EJAE, known for her role in K-Pop Demon Hunters, has shared her latest endeavor in a new teaser trailer by Liquid I.V. Leading up to the brand’s Super Bowl advertisement, EJAE, the voice behind HUNTR/X’s Rumi, showcases her voice in a cover of Phil Collins’ 1984 classic, "Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now)." In an exclusive conversation, she discussed the challenges of covering this iconic song, her transformative year in the spotlight, and her expectations for the recently confirmed sequel of K-Pop Demon Hunters.
"It’s such an iconic song, just a classic. Who doesn’t know that, ‘take a look at me now?’" EJAE remarked during a Zoom call. The track’s theme of perseverance resonates with her own journey, transitioning from K-pop idol trainee to a celebrated songwriter and the face of the Demon Hunters phenomenon over the past seven months.
"That’s why it felt serendipitous to be singing this song with these lyrics," she continued. "It’s also a song that has grit, that’s like ‘don’t give up,’ that ‘Golden’ had too."
The teaser, titled "Tiny Vanity Concert," depicts EJAE performing in an unconventional setting: a bathroom. This concept is designed as a tribute to the intimate moments where one rejuvenates and prepares for challenges, a familiar stage for many solo performances.
"It was just a genius idea. As a singer, the best acoustics are in the bathroom. I always sing in there. I think I sound the best there," she said, reflecting on the acoustics of the filming location. "And it did sound incredible in that room. The echo, the reverb, it just sounds ten times better than it would raw."

While specifics about Liquid I.V.’s full Super Bowl ad campaign remain under wraps, the brand has indicated that EJAE’s performance will be part of a broader "fully integrated campaign" aimed at signaling a "new era" for Liquid I.V.
For EJAE, the electrolyte drink mix is more than just a brand endorsement. "I love using Liquid I.V. for hydration in general. As a singer, you have to stay hydrated. For ‘Against All Odds,’ which is also a hard song, I had it with me," she explained.
Reflecting on a whirlwind year that included notable performances with HUNTR/X at prominent events like the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, EJAE emphasized the product’s importance. "On red carpets, it’s a necessity. Because of the electrolytes in it, you just feel hydrated way longer."

Looking ahead, she is keeping an eye on the Oscar nomination announcements, as her song "Golden" is a strong contender. EJAE shared, "I feel incredibly nervous. I’m gonna have my fiancé with me. It’s gonna be really early in the morning. I’m just like, no expectations, just let life lead the way."
EJAE also hinted at an exciting 2026, with a new solo single on the horizon and more releases of her songwriting for various artists within the K-pop genre and beyond. "I want to keep getting better as a songwriter. I think songwriting is my artistry. That will never stop.Because I will be releasing songs with my voice and also through others’ voices," she stated.
