Blake Lively Opens Up About Her Partnership with Ryan Reynolds
Blake Lively recently shared insights into her close partnership with husband Ryan Reynolds during an episode of WWD’s podcast, The Beauty of Tomorrow. In the January 15 episode, Lively discussed her new haircare line, Blake Brown, highlighting how integral Reynolds is to her personal and professional life.
When host Jenny B. Fine inquired if she seeks Reynolds’ advice for her business ventures, Lively enthusiastically affirmed their collaborative nature: "We talk shop all the time. We really are partners in everything just because we’re best friends." She elaborated, noting how their conversations extend to even the smallest details, like coffee preparation.
The couple, who married in 2012 after starring together in the superhero film Green Lantern, are parents to four children: daughters James, 11, Inez, 9, and Betty, 6, as well as son Olin, 2½.
"As much as we talk about work," Lively said, "we’re also eternally trying to figure out how to do family better." Their intertwined lives extend beyond business, impacting their family dynamic and overall happiness.
During the interview, Lively credited Reynolds as her personal tester for various products, saying, "He’s always stealing them from me," and emphasized that every aspect of her career is influenced by him.
"My family is all over everything I do," she continued. "I can see them all over it." While she may not frequently share personal stories, the influence of her family remains evident in her work.
In addition to her professional discussions, Lively’s appearance on the podcast coincides with her ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni, her director and co-star from the 2024 film It Ends With Us. Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni in December 2024, alleging sexual harassment and retaliation—a charge Baldoni denies. The trial is scheduled for May 2026.
Baldoni has since filed a countersuit, accusing Lively and Reynolds of defamation and extortion, although the judge dismissed this claim.
In a statement made in June 2025, Lively expressed her commitment to advocating for women’s rights, insisting that she aims to protect their safety, integrity, dignity, and stories. Baldoni’s attorney indicated that he seeks vindication and looks forward to presenting his case in court.
