Tennis Star Alexander Coleman Joins Brentwood as a Basketball Contributor
Brentwood Senior Alex Coleman Shines in Dual Sports
Brentwood High School’s Alexander Coleman, known for his prowess on the tennis court, is making waves on the basketball team as well. For two years, Coleman has been a standout player, using his athleticism to become a key contributor off the bench.
Although Coleman hasn’t played organized basketball since his freshman year, he showed early signs of talent by using the Brentwood School gym to dunk and calm his nerves before performances with the jazz band. Standing 6-foot-5, he has embraced the opportunity to play basketball this season under coach Ryan Bailey, after securing a college tennis offer from Macalester College in Minnesota.
Coleman’s enthusiasm for basketball is palpable on the court, especially considering his lack of recent organized play, apart from pickup games at local parks. His impressive jumping ability and athleticism provide a spark for the team, drawing admiration from fans and teammates alike.
In addition to his basketball contributions, Coleman is expected to lead Brentwood’s tennis team as their top singles or doubles player. His shot-blocking skills in basketball translate to formidable prowess on the tennis court, where opponents may think twice before attempting a lob over him.
As the season progresses, fans can anticipate more highlight-reel dunks from Coleman, further solidifying his reputation as a remarkable dual-sport athlete.
