Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have re-engaged with the Hollywood public relations firm Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis (SSML), marking a significant step in their ongoing efforts to restructure their professional team. This partnership comes on the heels of recent staffing changes within the Sussexes’ communications team.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have a longstanding relationship with SSML, which has collaborated with Meghan since her early days on Suits and has worked with the couple intermittently since 2017. The firm will assist with Meghan’s lifestyle brand, as well as the couple’s initiatives in the United States.
SSML is a prominent player in Hollywood, representing numerous high-profile clients and managing major entertainment projects. They will work in tandem with the Sussexes’ internal team, including Liam Maguire, who has been overseeing communications for Prince Harry in the UK and Europe.
While the couple has built their own communication operation since relocating to the U.S. and launching their nonprofit, Archewell Philanthropies, they have maintained a close connection with SSML. Keleigh Thomas Morgan, one of the firm’s co-presidents, was even present at the couple’s royal wedding in May 2018.

This latest move follows the December departure of the couple’s chief communications officer, Meredith Maines, who stepped down after less than a year in her role. A spokesperson for the Sussexes confirmed the change, expressing gratitude for Maines’ contributions. Maines also commended the couple’s work and expressed appreciation for the time spent with them.
Maines’ exit is part of a larger trend of turnover within the Sussexes’ communications team. In 2024, global press secretary Ashley Hansen departed to pursue her own consultancy, while additional staff members have transitioned in and out of roles throughout the past year.

Recently, James Holt, a longtime advisor to the couple and executive director of Archewell, also announced his departure. His contributions included significant initiatives aimed at improving mental health support and addressing online harm for families.
Holt reflected on his experiences with Prince Harry and Meghan, highlighting the meaningful impact of their work together, especially their commitment to supporting families affected by adversity.
