Charity Lawson has revealed exciting details about her impending wedding to fiancé Dotun Olubeko. The couple, who got engaged during the 20th season of The Bachelorette, have largely kept their wedding plans private. In a recent interview with It Girl, Lawson discussed her wedding aspirations, mentioning the inclusion of many familiar faces and a unique cultural aspect in the ceremony.
“Dotun is Nigerian, so we’re doing a cultural component of the ceremony,” Lawson explained, while adding that traditional American elements would also feature in the event. She noted, “There will be numerous people from Bachelor Nation there.”

However, one detail that remains under wraps is the couple’s wedding date. Lawson stated, “We do have a wedding date, but I have made it my most private detail. You will know once the wedding content starts coming out. I just don’t think I want to share the date publicly; people can be unpredictable.”
While refusing to disclose the specific date, she hinted that the wedding would occur this year when she reflected on what she anticipates for 2026, noting, “Obviously, me getting married. That’s like, the big one.”

Reflecting on their future plans, Lawson previously mentioned the couple’s vision for two weddings: one traditional Nigerian ceremony to honor Olubeko’s heritage and another standard American wedding. In conversations from August 2023, Lawson expressed openness to having both weddings. “We’ll see what that looks like. But Dotun and I talk a lot about the Nigerian wedding and if ABC will film that one, so we’ll see!”
As their wedding planning progresses, Lawson noted the couple is approaching it “day by day” to ensure every detail is meaningful. “We’re just not in a significant rush because the last few months have been a lot in terms of logistics. We want the wedding to be super meaningful, especially given how we met,” she added. “Planning takes time and effort, and we want to do it right.”
