SkyShowtime Introduces New Polish Drama: Morpheus, the Story of a Lawyer Who Becomes a Crime Boss
New Polish Drama Series "Morpheus" Set to Premiere on SkyShowtime
SkyShowtime, the European streaming service owned by Comcast and Paramount, is set to introduce its latest original series, Morpheus. This Polish drama features a distinguished cast including Andrzej Grabowski (Pitbull), Kamil Szeptycki (Chopin, Chopin!), Mateusz Kmiecik (Śleboda), and Sylwia Gola (Rojst).
Morpheus traces the story of Piotr, a seemingly ordinary lawyer whose life takes a dramatic turn when he unexpectedly assumes control of a crime gang that was previously led by his brother and father. As the narrative unfolds, Piotr reveals a hidden aptitude for crime.
Produced by TFP, the team behind LARP: Love, Trolls, and Other Quests, Morpheus recently completed filming. While a specific launch date has yet to be announced, the series is anticipated to premiere later this year. Maciej Migas directs the show, based on a script by Michał Wawrzecki.
Kai Finke, Chief Content Officer at SkyShowtime, expressed the platform’s dedication to cultivating an array of original series through 2026. "We are consistently expanding our collaboration with the most talented creators to enrich SkyShowtime’s offering with new Polish productions," he stated. "Our ambition remains to make SkyShowtime the place where film lovers find the entertainment they expect; high-quality, authentic, and engaging."
SkyShowtime operates in European markets where Paramount and Comcast do not offer their own subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) services. The platform features a selection of popular U.S. dramas, including the blockbuster Yellowstone series and its spin-offs, supplemented by original dramas and documentaries from its operating territories.
Among its notable originals, Śleboda has been particularly successful in Poland, with a sequel series tentatively titled Pionek currently in development. Additionally, the streamer has revived the cult police drama The Cop (Glina), which had been off the air for 17 years.
