Bunnie XO Supports Women Leaving Abusive Relationships This Thanksgiving
Bunnie Xo Launches Thanksgiving Initiative for Domestic Violence Survivors
As many celebrate Thanksgiving with family feasts, podcaster Bunnie Xo is focused on a different mission this holiday season. She is dedicated to assisting women escaping domestic violence, providing them with Thanksgiving dinners and care packages at the Mary Parrish Center.
“Thanksgiving is about giving back. And that’s exactly what we’re doing today,” Bunnie said in an interview with Extra.
Recognizing the challenges faced by survivors of domestic violence, Bunnie shared her personal connection to this cause. “Going through a situation personally around 2013 to 2016 with my own domestic violence relationship has just made this mission for myself even more of wanting to give back and wanting to be there for the women and the children that are going through this because I know how hard it is to get out,” she remarked.
Now happily married to country music star Jelly Roll, Bunnie has not forgotten her past struggles. She reflects on her experiences in her recent book, "Stripped Down." As part of her advocacy, she recently shared a stark reminder of the realities of domestic abuse—a photograph of herself with a swollen black eye. She aims for this candid image to resonate with other women, expressing, “I want somebody that I can relate to, and I hope that these women know that I have been exactly where they are and I just want to lift them up and just make them feel so good and loved and know that they’re doing the right thing.”
Bunnie encourages survivors to persevere: “I just want them to keep going. Don’t ever look back. Smash the rearview mirror.”
In a recent episode of her podcast, Dumb Blonde, Bunnie spoke candidly about her own legal troubles, revealing that she may need to report to jail for unknowingly driving with a suspended license stemming from years prior. “I got my lawyer on it, whatever,” she said, humorously adding, “If I do — you guys have seen all my past mug shots — I’m going in glammed the f–k up, baby, and I’m going to vlog it.”
Bunnie’s commitment to helping others during the holiday season underscores the importance of community support for those in need. Her efforts highlight not only a personal journey of resilience but also a broader conversation about domestic violence and recovery.
