NBC Decides to End ‘Deal Or No Deal Island’
EXCLUSIVE: NBC Cancels Deal or No Deal Island
NBC has announced that it will not renew Deal or No Deal Island for a third season, effectively closing the chapter on the innovative game show.
Hosted by Joe Manganiello, the series featured 13 contestants transported to a private island owned by the elusive Banker, where they competed for cash prizes.
Deal or No Deal Island transformed the traditional format of the original show, which was set in a studio. This adaptation involved a landscape scattered with briefcases concealing over $200 million in prize money. Each episode challenged players with both physical and mental tasks to secure these briefcases for that night’s game. The contestant who acquired the case of highest value would gain immunity and select a fellow player to enter The Temple, where they would participate in the classic game of Deal or No Deal. A poor decision in negotiations would lead to immediate elimination, while a successful deal empowered the player to decide who would exit the game next. As the season unfolded, winnings accumulated into a grand pot, with the Banker continually raising the stakes to test contestants’ strategy and greed.
The first season debuted in February 2024 and included notable participants such as Boston Rob and former Deal or No Deal case model Claudia Jordan. The second season, launched in January 2025, featured players like Survivor’s Parvati Shallow and Big Brother’s Will Kirby.
The series was produced by Endemol Shine North America, with executive producers Joe Manganiello, Matt Kunitz, Vittoria Cacciatore, Jeffrey Breeden, Howie Mandel, and several others from Endemol Shine North America, including Sharon Levy, Michael Heyerman, and Sean Loughlin.
