U-Haul Driver Strikes Protesters in Westwood, Iran
U-Haul Truck Crashes into Crowd of Demonstrators in Westwood, Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES – A distressing incident unfolded in the Westwood area of Los Angeles on Sunday, January 11, when a U-Haul truck was seen driving into a crowd of demonstrators. The event, captured in a video that circulated on social media, depicted the truck colliding with individuals waving Iranian flags, accompanied by sounds of panic and shouts as people attempted to evade the vehicle. Some demonstrators were seen trying to retaliate by striking the truck with flagpoles.
The crash occurred near the Federal Building on Wilshire Boulevard, prompting immediate concerns about the safety of those involved. FOX 11’s Matthew Seedorff reported that at least one individual sustained injuries as a result of the incident.
Prior to the crash, organizers had gathered the crowd to advocate for political change in Iran, highlighting ongoing issues such as the country’s economic crisis and human rights violations. They expressed that these demonstrations provide a platform for Iranian Americans to voice their support for reforms.
As of Sunday afternoon, the motives behind the U-Haul driver’s actions remain unclear. Authorities have not revealed whether a suspect has been identified, and no arrests have been officially reported at this time.
