Jennifer Lawrence has decided against having another dog due to a concerning incident involving her son, Cy.
During a screening of her latest film, Die My Love, at 92nd Street Y in New York City on January 7, the 35-year-old actress disclosed that she felt compelled to give up her dog, Princess Pippi Longstocking, whom she adopted in 2017, after welcoming her children.

Lawrence, who shares two sons, Cy, 3, and another born in 2024, with husband Cooke Maroney, expressed during the event that her perception of dogs has shifted dramatically.
“It’s almost like I don’t recognize dogs right now, like I just see them as a threat,” she stated.
The actress revealed that an incident where a dog bit her son intensified her fears: “I’m just like, ‘I’m gonna take out you and your f—ing family,'” she said, expressing her frustration.
Shifting her focus, Lawrence shared that she is now a proud cat owner and highlighted the quirky personality of her cat, Fred.

“They’re so misunderstood,” she remarked regarding cats, noting that many don’t appreciate their humorous nature. She described her cat’s tendency to make its presence known in a humorous way while she and her husband are watching television.
Lawrence’s new film Die My Love, which features a co-starring role with Robert Pattinson, explores dark themes surrounding postpartum depression and psychosis exacerbated by her husband’s potential infidelity. The film was well-received, earning a nine-minute standing ovation at its premiere during the 78th Cannes Film Festival in May.
