Jenny McCarthy has ruled out a return to The View any time soon.
In a candid conversation on the January 6 episode of The Katie Miller Podcast, McCarthy, who co-hosted the show during its 17th season from 2013 to 2014, shared her thoughts on her experience and the reasons behind her decision not to return.
When asked about being invited back to the show, now in its 29th season, McCarthy recalled her initial invitation.

Reflecting on her hiring, she noted, “The reason why they wanted to bring me on is because they, quote, said it was too polarizing. They thought it was too polarizing back then.”
McCarthy stated that the original intention was for her to provide “light, fluffy, and fun” commentary on entertainment topics like Dancing with the Stars and The Bachelor.

However, her tenure quickly shifted in focus. “Well, that lasted a week,” she remarked. “After a week, when they said they wanted to get political, I was like, ‘Oh my God, what am I going to do?'”
McCarthy recalled a particular moment when the discussion topics turned serious, stating, “They’re like, ‘today we’re going to be discussing the hostage situation and whether the United States government should pay the ransom or not.’ And I was like, ‘What?'” She found it challenging to navigate the new direction of the show, stating, “So getting through that year was really difficult.”
Now, McCarthy claims to be “much more political” than she was during her time on the show, attributing this shift to the current political climate. “Our latest administration has helped so much,” she remarked.

Despite her evolving views, McCarthy is firm in her stance on returning to the show. “They’ve asked me to come back for, like, reunion shows. I was like, over my dead body would I ever step foot in that place,” she emphasized.
Representatives for The View have been contacted for comment on McCarthy’s statements.
