Christopher Briney from The Summer I Turned Pretty Takes on a New Role in Amazon’s Clashing Through The Snow
Christopher Briney to Star in New Comedy ‘Clashing Through the Snow’
Christopher Briney, known for his role in The Summer I Turned Pretty, is set to remain with Amazon MGM Studios as he takes on a leading role in the upcoming comedy Clashing Through the Snow. Described as a contemporary take on Planes, Trains and Automobiles, the film promises to resonate with today’s audience.
The project will be directed by Carlson Young, known for her work on Upgraded, and produced by Wonderland Sound and Vision, led by partners McG and Mary Viola. Filming is slated to begin in February.
Joining Briney, Lena Roklin of Luber Roklin Entertainment will serve as a producer, with Kyle Luker from Industry Entertainment providing executive production alongside Oscar-winning writer and director Ari Sandel, recognized for his live-action short film West Bank Story. The screenplay was penned by Daniel Mackey and Rebecca Ewing, who previously achieved success with their Netflix hit Love Hard.
Briney gained widespread recognition as Conrad Fisher in Amazon Prime Video’s popular series The Summer I Turned Pretty, which captivated over 70 million viewers worldwide during its third and final season. He is also set to reprise his role in a feature film adaptation of the series.
In addition to his work in The Summer I Turned Pretty, Briney featured in the musical film Mean Girls and will appear in a recurring role on HBO Max’s Hacks. He made his film debut opposite Ben Kingsley in Daliland and has a leading role in The Julia Set, alongside Chase Infiniti and Jason Isaacs.
Briney is represented by CSED, Industry Entertainment, and Peikoff Mahan Law Office. Carlson Young, directed Upgraded, and has also worked on the film Trust, which starred Sophie Turner. She recently directed Amazon MGM Studios’ adaptation of Anna Todd’s bestselling romance series, After.
Wonderland has previously garnered success with streaming hits, including Musica for Amazon and Netflix’s Love Hard and Holidate, which collectively amassed 1.3 billion viewing minutes according to Nielsen reports. Other notable projects from McG and Viola include I Feel Pretty, Before We Go, and When We First Met.
Clashing Through the Snow will mark Roklin’s sixth collaboration with Amazon MGM, following her involvement with productions such as Upgraded, The Other Zoe, and MAINTENANCE REQUIRED.
