Josh Charles Criticizes Travis Kelce After Ravens Loss
Actor Josh Charles has expressed his frustration with Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce following a significant loss suffered by Charles’ favored Baltimore Ravens in the 2024 AFC Championship Game. During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Charles humorously labeled Kelce a "real jerk" for his performance in that game.
"I’ve always liked Travis Kelce; I thought he was cool, but that year they beat us in the AFC Championship game — they beat the Ravens — he was a real jerk that year," the Good Wife alum said. "So I kind of fell off of him. When I met him, I said, ‘You know I always liked you, and this year you were kind of a D-I-C-K.’"
Kelce, 36, appeared unbothered by Charles’ critique. "He laughed, and he said, ‘You know what, you’re right,’" Charles recalled.
The two met when Charles made a cameo in Taylor Swift’s music video for "Fortnight," alongside actor Ethan Hawke. In the video, they portrayed scientists in a lab, with Swift connected to an upright table reminiscent of a scene from Frankenstein.

Charles later took to Instagram to express his admiration for Swift. "I’ve admired Taylor for a long time, but meeting her in person took my fandom to a whole new level,” he wrote. “Genuine, kind, approachable, and just an all-around stellar human being — Not to mention a kick a– director to boot!"
Despite his initial annoyance regarding Kelce, Charles ultimately praised the NFL star. The two engaged in conversation about football, allowing Charles to reassess his previous criticism. “He’s such a good dude,” Charles noted. “I really like him.”
Reflecting on the Ravens missing out on a playoff berth just before his Tonight Show appearance, Charles shared a lighthearted moment with Fallon. “It was a tough one last night; I almost canceled on you,” he said with a chuckle.
