No one may feel the end of the Christmas season quite like Mariah Carey. In a lighthearted video shared on Saturday, January 3, the iconic singer watches in dismay as two individuals dismantle one of her Christmas trees, removing ornaments with enthusiasm. “No! No!” Carey exclaims, her gestures revealing her genuine distress over the situation.
The video, set to her 2025 single “In Your Feelings,” which recently enjoyed its third week at the top of the Adult R&B Airplay chart, presented a humorous take on the post-holiday blues. In her caption, she quipped, “When they say ‘Christmas is over.’”
For Christmas enthusiasts like Carey, bidding farewell to the festive season is always a challenge. This past December was particularly successful for the star, as she reclaimed her title for the longest-running No. 1 hit in Billboard Hot 100 history. Carey’s classic “All I Want for Christmas Is You” notched its remarkable 20th week at the top.
“Humbly taking back the torch!! 20 weeks at #1,” she celebrated on Instagram. “I’m so grateful.” The holiday classic would go on to add two additional weeks to its record, contributing to Carey’s impressive milestone of 100 career weeks atop the Hot 100.
In tandem with her chart-topping success, Carey also hosted her annual series of Christmas shows, this year featuring a holiday residency in Las Vegas. Pop star Rihanna attended one of the performances, sharing backstage that it had become a holiday “tradition” for her.
Looking ahead, Carey has exciting plans for 2026, including a performance at the opening ceremony for the upcoming Winter Olympics in Milan, which she announced in mid-December. “Ci vediamo a Milano!” she expressed in a video, showcasing her burgeoning Italian skills.
