Miley Cyrus Brings Back Hannah Montana Bangs as the 20th Anniversary Approaches
Miley Cyrus is channeling her past as she steps back into the iconic role of Hannah Montana. The 33-year-old singer and actress made a striking appearance at the 37th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards on January 3, donning a stylish black suit paired with a plunging polka-dot blouse.
For her glam look, Cyrus styled her long blonde hair in loose waves with curtain bangs, reminiscent of the character’s trademark honey-colored wig. The Disney Channel series “Hannah Montana,” which featured Cyrus as a pop star and her average teen alter ego, first premiered in 2006 and is set to celebrate its 20th anniversary in March 2026.
In an interview with Variety, Cyrus expressed her excitement about upcoming anniversary plans, stating, “We’re working hard on ‘em.” She added that she is eager to honor the show’s legacy but couldn’t divulge specific details, hinting, “You see the bangs.”
Last month, Cyrus acknowledged her commitment to commemorate “Hannah Montana” for its dedicated fanbase. In an interview with Good Morning America, she noted, “A lot of my time right now is being spent [figuring out] how I can honor Hannah.” She indicated that the milestone is significant for both her and her fans.
Reflecting on her time with Disney, Cyrus has consistently expressed pride in her origins. “I had gotten a taste of what my life could be, and from that moment on, I did not want anything else,” she remarked during the D23 Expo in 2024. She continued, “A little bit of everything has changed … but at the same time, nothing has changed at all. I stand here still proud to have been Hannah Montana.”

In recognition of her contributions, Cyrus was honored as a “Disney Legend” during an annual fan convention. “In so many ways, this award is dedicated to Hannah and all of her amazing loyal fans, and to everyone who has made my dream a reality,” she stated at the ceremony. “To quote the legend herself, ‘This is the life.’”
The beloved series “Hannah Montana” ran for four seasons on the Disney Channel, culminating in a feature film. Alongside Cyrus, the franchise included her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, and co-stars Emily Osment, Jason Earles, Mitchel Musso, and Moises Arias.
Cyrus, who achieved notable success under the “Hannah Montana” umbrella, expressed her journey to redefine herself as an artist. “I’m so settled in what I’m doing and who I am,” she remarked in a 2020 interview with Rolling Stone. “All I’ve ever wanted is respect as an artist and to have pride in what I make. I think that comes with the dedication and diligence that I really put in the effort. I put in the work.”
