TikTok star Grandma Mary has passed away at the age of 98. Her granddaughter, known on social media as Pyxie, shared the news of her death, which occurred in her sleep on New Year’s Eve, December 31.
“In a tribute video posted on TikTok, Pyxie wrote, ‘On New Year’s Eve, we said goodbye to Grandma. She peacefully passed away in her sleep.’ She expressed her gratitude in the same post, stating, ‘How lucky we are to have experienced her and her love. She will always be with us.’”
The video tribute features Grandma Mary saying “Good morning” as Pyxie captured her on camera, alongside various clips of her engaging in daily activities like making breakfast and washing her hands. The video concluded with the caption, “Grandma Mary. Mary 13, 1927 – December 31, 2025,” along with footage of Grandma Mary thanking Pyxie for her visits.
Fans had expressed concern when Pyxie had not posted videos featuring Grandma Mary for several months in late 2025. In response to those concerns, Pyxie released a video on December 19 summarizing memorable moments together. She wrote, “I got teary putting this together. For anyone wondering, Grandma is alive and quieter these days. What a beautiful thing it is to witness who she is and who she helped me become.”
Grandma Mary was born to Armenian parents fleeing genocide and later returned to Armenia to start a family with her husband. Upon returning to the United States in 1966, they ran a gas station business in New Jersey for several decades. She outlived her five siblings, leaving behind a lasting legacy of love and connection with her family and fans alike.
