Kayla Vesia, wife of Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Alex Vesia, has made a return to TikTok with an emotional update following the couple’s announcement in November 2025 regarding their loss of their first child.
In a video shared on January 2, Kayla expressed her feelings in a solemn address, following a joint statement in which she and Alex revealed their “beautiful daughter went to heaven Sunday, October 26th.”
“You know, I don’t have much to say, honestly,” Kayla stated, beginning the video. “Alex and I are just trying to get through it every day. Every day’s so different for us right now, and I don’t really have the words.” She acknowledged her usual practice of sharing their life updates on social media.
Gratefully, she noted the outpouring of support from the community: “It just felt right to come on here and say ‘Thank you.’ I am really grateful for the community of you guys, and just expressing your support and love towards us. It really has brought us a lot of comfort during this.” The couple married in January 2024 and shared their pregnancy announcement in April 2025.
Just before the Dodgers faced the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 1 of the World Series, they announced that Alex would step away from the game to “navigate a deeply personal family matter.” At that time, no further details were disclosed. Dodgers president of baseball operations, Andrew Friedman, later stated, “We just didn’t want to have any potential for any kind of pressure,” emphasizing the seriousness of the situation.
In her latest video, Kayla indicated uncertainty about her content moving forward: “I don’t know how much I’m going to share. I don’t know the details of it, but I do know that I want to share, and if it can help somebody who’s going through the same thing to feel like they’re not alone.” She expressed a desire to connect with her audience but insisted she did not want to present her grief in a dramatic manner: “I promise I will not be coming on here and crying. I don’t wanna come on here and cry. I don’t think that’s fun for anyone.”
Speaking to her followers serves as a therapeutic outlet for her, complimenting her and Alex’s therapy sessions. “Right now I don’t have a whole lot to say, just that I am really grateful for you guys in showing so much love and support for this during this time,” she said. She added that although she felt prepared for many scenarios, she was not ready for “not taking my baby home.”
Kayla concluded her video with a positive note, wishing her viewers a Happy New Year while acknowledging the uncertain path ahead: “I don’t know what this year is gonna bring. I’ll slowly be getting back on here, but I love you guys, and that’s about it for right now.”
