Five Injured in Deck Collapse in San Pedro

Five individuals sustained injuries Saturday evening when a second-story deck collapsed at a residence in San Pedro. The incident occurred at approximately 5:23 p.m. at a home located at 3518 S. Spearing Ave., just north of West Paseo Del Mar, according to Jennifer Middleton, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department.

“All patients are awake, alert, and being assessed for injuries,” Middleton stated. However, the specific nature of the injuries and whether any of the victims required hospitalization have not been disclosed.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the cause of the collapse. As further details emerge, concerns linger regarding the safety of similar structures in the area.
