Princess Charlotte Wears Adorable Mini Version of Mom Kate’s First Royal Coat
Princess Charlotte Joins Family for Annual Christmas Walk
Princess Charlotte, 10, participated in the royal family’s traditional Christmas Day walkabout at Sandringham yesterday. Accompanied by her parents, Prince William and Princess Catherine, as well as her brothers, Prince George and Prince Louis, the family appeared joyful as they greeted attendees outside St. Mary Magdalene Church on the Norfolk estate.
Charlotte was seen in a striking brown-and-tan coat designed by Catherine Walker, a choice that quickly sparked comparisons to a similar coat worn by her mother, Kate Middleton, during her first royal engagement over a decade ago. Observers noted that the vintage-inspired design effectively highlighted the continuity of royal fashion.
The resemblance was met with enthusiasm among royal watchers, indicating that such stylistic choices often hold significance within the royal family. Middleton’s original version of the coat was showcased during her visit to Trearddur Bay Lifeboat Station in February 2011, shortly after her engagement to Prince William.
Princess Charlotte’s dress coat featured a chocolate brown velvet collar that seamlessly coordinated with the pockets, cuffs, and collar of the design. The young princess completed her festive look with matching brown gloves and a delightful bow in her hair.
Earlier this month, the mother-daughter duo was seen matching in half-up hairstyles adorned with bows during King Charles’s Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace. Both were also elegantly dressed for the "Together At Christmas" carol service at Westminster Abbey, where they took center stage with a piano duet, further showcasing their strong familial bond.
The royal family has embraced festive fashion this holiday season, with Middleton opting for a brown tartan Blazé Milano coat for the Sandringham event—an ensemble reminiscent of her first public engagement of the year.
This year’s Christmas outing not only celebrated family traditions but also served as a poignant reminder of the royal family’s ability to blend personal moments with public appearances, underlining their enduring significance in contemporary society. As the family looks forward to the new year, hope abounds for a continued bright and joyous future.
