- Neil Patrick Harris has revealed his 15-year-old daughter’s ambitious Christmas request, accompanied by a hefty price tag.
- Though the item costs $2,000, Harris expressed a different concern: “Every two or three days, she wants something new.”
- “By the time late December rolls around, I don’t know where that spinning wheel is gonna wind up,” he added.
Neil Patrick Harris recently shared his daughter Harper Grace’s Christmas wish, which surprised him both in its content and cost.
The 52-year-old actor, known for his role in How I Met Your Mother, disclosed that his 15-year-old daughter caught him off guard with her holiday request for a vintage Chanel purse, priced at $2,000. In an interview with Parade, Harris recounted, “She sends us a link to a Chanel purse — a vintage Chanel purse.” He noted her logic: “[She said], ‘Boy, this is a great price, $2,000. Normally it’s more than that.’”

While the price of the purse raised some eyebrows, Harris stated that it was not the primary concern. “She has really good taste in clothes and shoes, and everything is very expensive. That’s not the problem,” he explained. “The problem is every two or three days, she wants something new.”
Before committing to the purchase, Harris made sure this was indeed Harper’s true desire. “I’m like, ‘What? A $2,000 purse you want? But wait, this is just today because yesterday you wanted these crazy shoes and before that you wanted some dress,” he remarked. “So I’m not getting you all these things.”
Despite the challenges of gift shopping for his daughter, Harris humorously noted, “By the time late December rolls around, I don’t know where that spinning wheel is gonna wind up.” Nonetheless, he takes pride in being easy to shop for himself. “I have a shared note, and as I’m online looking at things that I want [I add them],” he said. “I’m easy because I like puzzles, games, magic things, cocktail glasses and stirrers, and I just keep adding to the shared list with the intention that I don’t want everything on the list. I do so many things that I forget what I put on them. So then when I open presents, I’m thrilled.”

Despite the challenges posed by the holiday shopping season, Harris and his family are looking forward to a relaxing holiday. “Both our parents come into town right before Christmas. We have both our families go out to dinner and do gifts,” noted David Burtka, Harris’s husband. “Then we’ll go out east to our place there and spend the two weeks of holiday break just chilling out.”
Harris expressed a desire for a quiet holiday, stating, “I really want to just do nothing. It’ll be nice just to not do anything and have a very quiet New Year, and just be together and cook. My kids want to learn how to make some stuff. We’ll just chill, watch movies and walk the dogs. It’ll be really nice.”
