The 42-year-old reality TV personality and brother of pop star Ariana Grande shared an Instagram update, posting a selfie in a neck brace from his hospital bed. He disclosed that the surgery was necessary to address ongoing pain and neurological issues.
“Wink if you’re freshly repaired 😉👅,” he captioned the image. “Today I had a planned cervical spine surgery to relieve pressure on nerves in my neck that have been causing pain and neurological symptoms for a while. The procedure went exactly as expected, no surprises, no drama (for once 😅), just very precise work by an incredible medical team.”
Grand elaborated that the surgery involved the removal of bone and tissue compressing his nerves, providing essential space for his spinal cord and nerves to heal and function optimally. He indicated his recovery will involve four weeks of healing, rest, and physical therapy, stating, “MERRY CHRISTMAS! 😜”
