Barbra Streisand recently showed her admiration for Ariana Grande through a heartfelt Instagram post.
On December 3, Streisand shared a nostalgic photo of the two artists and offered praise in the caption.
In her post, the 83-year-old music icon remarked, “Ariana is a young woman with an amazing talent. She has a beautiful voice like no one else, and so much more. She can act, she can dance, she can be funny! She’s also sweet, kind and thoughtful. I’m very proud of you, Ariana, and thanks for singing with me on my album… Big hug, Barbra.”
Additionally, she complimented Grande on her recent appearance on *Saturday Night Live*, saying, “you looked so pretty @arianagrande!”
In response, the 32-year-old singer expressed her gratitude in the comments, exclaiming, “Barbra !!!!!!!! what !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🥹🥺 oh my goodness, thank you so much for this kindest surprise today! you made my day, my year, my life! 🥹” She added, “this means so much, coming from you. This touching exchange comes on the heels of Grande being announced as a cast member in the upcoming film *Focker In-Law*, the fourth installment of the *Meet the Parents* series. Streisand joined the franchise for the sequel, *Meet the Fockers*, in 2004.
In a June interview with *Today*, co-star Ben Stiller praised Grande’s comedic skills, stating, “She’s going to be really, really funny and kind of the whole engine of the new movie.”
While Grande embarks on this new film venture, Streisand released her latest album, *The Secret of Life: Partners, Volume 2,* in June. The album features numerous collaborations, including a song titled “One Heart, One Voice” featuring Grande and Mariah Carey.

In a separate interview earlier this month, Streisand discussed the possibility of reprising her role for *Focker In-Law*. She expressed her concerns regarding compensation, stating, “Oh my God. They’d have to pay me a lot of money because I didn’t get paid what the other people got paid and so I’m pissed off.” She added, “I was in the time when women were getting paid less than the men.” Streisand noted that the then-head of Universal, Ron Meyer, had graciously sent her a bonus check, which she found very sweet.
