LAPD North Hollywood Station Evacuated After Someone Brings in Suspicious Device
Los Angeles Police Station Evacuated Over Explosive Device Incident
A Los Angeles police station was evacuated Tuesday afternoon after an individual attempted to surrender a live explosive device at the North Hollywood station, according to the LAPD.
Capt. Warner Castillo reported that the person approached the front desk with a mortar round in their possession. In response, the bomb squad was dispatched to the scene, prompting officials to request that the public avoid the area during the investigation.
The LAPD emphasized that anyone who encounters a potentially explosive device should call 911 immediately and refrain from handling it.
This incident follows a similar evacuation at the LAPD Foothill Station a few months prior, when a box containing military-grade devices was discovered outside the facility.
