On December 22, Jennifer Garner took to Instagram to demonstrate her mastery of the Nutcracker French twist, guided by professional ballerina Tiler Peck, who has performed as the Sugar Plum Fairy in New York City.

In a video shared on her social media, Garner, 53, and Peck, 36, gathered bobby pins and a hairbrush before beginning the tutorial. Peck asked Garner, “Are you right handed?” to which Garner confirmed. The ballerina then instructed her to gather her hair into a low ponytail while emphasizing the need for space to twist.

Peck expertly showcased the twisting technique, utilizing both hands as she spun Garner’s hair into position and pinned it in place. “And then you just keep twisting up,” she explained, demonstrating how to secure the style with bobby pins.

During the lesson, Garner inquired whether the hairstyle was executed in the “Balanchine way,” referencing the famed choreographer George Balanchine. Peck replied, “I never taught this,” before making adjustments to Garner’s attempt.

To add humor, Garner remarked, “Now that I can do my hair, I feel like I should probably be in the New York City Ballet.” She joked about the “fouettés” integral to the Sugar Plum Fairy’s performance.

In her Instagram caption, Garner noted the fun collaboration: “From Sugarplum herself. 🧚‍♀️🩰.” The post garnered a positive response from celebrity friends and fans, with compliments pouring in about Garner’s hairstyle.
