Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes have emphasized the importance of friendship in maintaining a happy and healthy relationship.
During an exclusive interview at iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball 2025, the former Good Morning America anchors discussed the secret to their bond. The couple, who got engaged in September, revealed their thoughts during the event on December 12.
“Friendship, the foundation of friendship, period, point blank,” said Holmes, 48, with Robach, 52, affirming, “Without a doubt.”
Holmes elaborated, stating, “If you got a friend you love and you respect… you end up in a relationship that’s still the foundation of friendship.”

Robach added, “Yes, if you can laugh with someone, you can live a long time with someone. You can get through almost anything if you can laugh together.”
Holmes responded playfully, mimicking laughter, which contributed to the light-hearted atmosphere.
This red carpet event also served as a family outing for the couple. They were joined by Holmes’ 12-year-old daughter, Sabine, whom he shares with ex-wife Marilee Fiebig, as well as Robach’s daughters Annalise, 19, and Ava, 22, from her previous marriage to Andrew Shue.

Looking ahead to the holiday season, Holmes stated the couple plans to spend it “in New York with our girls,” followed by a tropical getaway. “We get to do our perfect Christmas this year,” he added. Robach concluded with, “It’s T.J. and his ladies.”
